No new updates, the challenge continues and the recipes are the same until next Tuesday…but here’s my mini-budget chawanmushi recipe! It’s a cinch to make in the morning, and it feels more substantial than eating hard boiled eggs. Try it try i t try it.

Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tsp salt

Steps:

Break 2 eggs into a high-rimmed bowl, add 1/2 cup water and salt

Whip with a fork until the mixture is a light yellow color and consistent through out

Place the bowl into a pout containing some water

Set the pot on a high simmer, and cover with a lid

Walk away…(go shower! put on make up! sneak in 5 more minutes of sleep!)

Come back to custardy steamed eggs in 10 minutes! Eat over rice or by itself.
